Each round will consist of 20 tossups with rebounding bonuses. The field is limited to the first 24 teams to register and will be divided into preliminary round-robin pools\, with the results in each pool determining placement in the playoff rounds.
Registration is set at $70 per team\, while additional teams from a school are welcome at a base fee of $65 each. Teams may deduct the following discounts if applicable\:
- $5 for supplying a working buzzer system

The Missouri State University Academic Quiz Bowl Club will be hosting the Missouri State Fall Academic Tournament on Saturday\, November 14\, 2009. We will be using NAQT Invitational Series #88 in an untimed format\; each game will have 20 tossups and 30 point non-rebounding bonuses. Powers (5 extra points for an especially early correct buzz) and negs (-5 points for an early incorrect buzz) will be in effect for tossups.

Lexington will host its annual JV tournament on Nov. 14\, and entry deadline is Nov. 6. The tournament will once again feature teams divided into two divisions based on school size. Trophies and medals will be awarded to the top four teams in each division. Entry fee is $65 for the first team\, $55 for a second team. This will be an early-season NAQT event using standard NAQT rules (pyramidal questions\, neg-5's for incorrect early buzzes\, 15 points instead of 10 for correct early answers\, and 30-point bonuses with no rebounding)\, and will serve as a qualifier for NAQT nationals in Chicago in May 2010. 16-team cap unless staffing allows for a larger field.

Hancock High School in St. Louis County will be hosting their annual fall tournament on December 5th. This is the 4th year for the tournament and we hope to attract 16 teams. Cost is $75 per team with discounts for providing buzzer /responder systems discounts of $5 for multiple teams\, distance of an hour or more traveled\, and MACA membership. The state format will be used and the cost includes a copy of the questions.

Missouri State University will be hosting a varsity academic tournament on Saturday\, February 20\, 2010. This tournament will be a mirror of the Classic City Classic set written by the quiz bowl team at the University of Georgia\, and games will consist of twenty tossups worth ten points each and bonuses worth thirty points each. Tentatively\, the top two teams in the field will qualify for the PACE NSC. Each team will be guaranteed at least nine matches.

All-tournament players in each division will earn medals. This tournament is a great opportunity to tune-up prior to district competition.
Questions will be provided by Questions Galore\, the provider for Missouri's district\, sectional\, and state competitions.

This is a new central location and Helias has graciously agreed to host the tournament. MACA hopes that this will allow many more schools to compete especially those from the eastern side of the state since travel times will no longer be so long or require an overnight trip.
