Tuscumbia High School will be hosting an academic tournament for students in the 8th grade and below on November 8, 2014. We will be running two divisions, one for 7th/8th grade teams from MSHSAA-affiliated schools and one for students in the sixth grade or below. If there is sufficient demand, we will consider opening a third division for 7th/8th grade teams from non-MSHSAA affiliated schools. The hard cap on team size is eight players; we request that you limit teams to six players so as to maximize playing time for all students.

This tournament has been canceled to a lack of available teams.

The tournament will use 15-point "powers" (reward for an early enough buzz), There will not be any -5 point "negs" (penalty should a player buzz in during the question and answer incorrectly). Bonuses will rebound. There is no computational math in the SCOP Novice Tournament set.

The novice tournament will be a mirror of a set produced by the Scholastic Community Outreach Program (SCOP) of Illinois, which is specially written to appeal to newer or inexperienced players. This tournament is using the same question set as Tuscumbia's Invitational on January 17, 2015, so teams may not register for both tournaments. Each round will consist of 20 tossup questions with 20 3-part bonuses should a team answer a tossup correctly.

Each round will consist of 20 tossup questions with 20 3-part bonuses should a team answer a tossup correctly. Bonuses will rebound.

Since this is a regular difficulty question set, there will be no eligibility restrictions as there were for last year's tournament. Also, a single team can have no more than six players. If you have more than six players, please do not hesitate to sign up a second or even third team!

This tournament will be using NAQT Invitational Series #140. This tournament was originally assigned IS-138, but swapped sets with the Hallsville Fall Academic Tournament.

The University of Missouri Quizbowl Club is pleased to announce that we are planning on hosting our seventh annual Missouri Fall Academic Tournament on October 18th, 2014. The tournament will be co-directed by Avery Wagner and myself, Itamar Naveh-Benjamin.
